TERMS OF USE:

This page makes clear the terms of use for my images. Some of these questions have already been posed to me. Others have not, but I have seen fellow artists asked these. So, I'm jumping the gun and answering those questions before they are asked. If anything you want to know is not covered here, by all means _ASK ME_. Don't just use the images anyway.

For all of those who read this, I thank you. It shows that you care about what I (the artist) wish for my images. Give yourself a big pat on the back. But feel very, very bad if you don't listen to what I say anyway.

~Chella "Klawz" Reaves

---> 1. May I use such-and-such image(s) on my site?

Perhaps. I'm actually happy about having my art hosted on other sites. Here are the terms.

a) You e-mail me, first of all, asking for permisson, also giving the URL of the site you will be hosting the art at, and also the URL of the exact directory/gallery that my art will be at.
b) You do not change anything in the image(s) without my permission. Remember, ask and ye shall recieve.
c) You please add a note, "The following images are © Chella "Klawz" Reaves"; also including my e-mail address and if you're really nice, linking either to my homepage, my Side7 or VCL art archive (or all three - whatever you like).

Now, that's not too hard, and not too much to ask, is it? Also - remember, if I draw a picture for YOU, of one of YOUR characters, you are of course able to use it! Just as long as you don't claim the art as yours, you can use it as your picture of your character in an rpg, MU*, or whatever.

---> 2. May I create a small gallery of your art on my site?

The rules are very similar to the above.

a) You e-mail me, first, asking for permisson, also giving the URL of the site you will be hosting the art at, and also the URL of the exact directory/gallery that my art will be at.
b) You do not include any art of any characters not (c) Myself or yourself. Unless you e-mail the (c) holders of the characters asking for THEIR permission that pictures of their character(s) be at your site.
c) You do not change anything in the image(s) without my permission.
d) You (please!) label my gallery as 'Klawz' or Chella "Klawz" Reaves. I'm the only one of me out there, that I know of.
e) You please add my e-mail address(es) & at least one of my art sites so that visitors could find more of my art if they enjoy it. Again, either my homepage, my Side7 gallery or my VCL gallery will do.

---> 3. May I use one/more of your characters in a comic strip/fanfiction?

Er.... maaaaaaybe... I'll grant those on a case by case basis. You *have* to get my permission on this. It'll depend on what kind of comic/fiction you have in mind, how they will be portrayed, and such.

---> 4. May I use one/more of your characters in a RPG/MU*?

Eek. Why? They're mine! I'd *really* rather that you didn't. Though if your heart is set on it, I *might* grant permission, if you ask. But, currently, I have NOT granted permission to anyone for this purpose. I might not ever. If you run across anyone using my characters in an rpg, MUD, MUCK, etc, they do NOT have my permission. Any information on these thieves you can give to me, please do. I've been told someone has ripped off at least one of my characters this way. They do not have MY permission, I promise you.

---> 5. Can I publish your art somewhere? (Magazine, CD, Furzine, newspaper, etc, etc)

Mmm... Perhaps. If it's for-profit, then I would like to be paid, of course. If how much you will pay me is optional, we can discuss it. Otherwise I'll want what everyone else is getting. ^_^

---> 6. Can I save some of your images to my HardDrive, a disc, zip, or CD?

I've no problems with anyone archiving my art 'offline', as long as it's purely for viewing/learning purposes. I don't really like the thought of my art being on a CD, though, unless you also include a text file (or html file) of where and how to contact me. I'd be very upset if you sold my art in any way, however. Don't do that without my permission.

Now, that was short and relatively painless, wasn't it?

If you find any of my images on someone's website and it's not of their character, or they don't have my e-mail address and/or my website(s) addresses posted - chances are they did NOT get my permission to use my work. Please help myself and other artists by e-mailing me to report this problem.

If you have any questions, by all means e-mail me and we can discuss it. ;D Again, those who read this have shown consideration towards me. If you stick to my rules of the game, then we'll all play happy. For those who use my images anyway, shame on you. Just remember that one way or another, one day or another, you'll get yours. ;P
